In September 2001, the original Silent Hill 2 set a new standard for the survival-horror genre in the PlayStation 2 era. Later this month, Konami’s classic game is getting a remake from Bloober Team that is giving Silent Hill 2 a modern flourish. Now, an extended stream from 2BRO has revealed more of the changes in store for players as they explore the town of Silent Hill. The first 13 minutes of the stream serve as a reminder for how far games have come in the last 23 years by playing through the opening parts of the original Silent Hill 2. That game needed a loading screen just to bring its main character, James Sunderland, into a partially fenced-off area. The modern version of Silent Hill 2 appears to be a more seamless experience, and less reliant on fog to cover up its short…

Read moreRemedy recently announced that a coming update for Alan Wake will remove the classic David Bowie song Space Oddity from the game, replacing it with the original song Strange Moons, penned by Remedy composer Petri Alanko. However, it seems that this update will not affect Alan Wake Remastered, which came out in 2021.Arguably one of Bowie’s best-known songs, the galactic rock song that features the iconic line “ground control to Major Tom” originally played over Alan Wake’s closing credits. Though we don’t know what Strange Moons will sound like yet, composer Alanko said on X/Twitter that a part of the song was originally included in an Alan Wake level that was cut prior to the game’s final release.
Football Manager 25 has been delayed by several weeks and will not include several expected features. Studio manager Miles Jacobson announced that the game will now release in late November, rather than early November. The exact release date will be confirmed later in September. As for cut features, the mode International Management will not be playable in FM25, FM25 Console, or FM25 Touch. Jacobson cited the difficulty of transferring the series to Unity and claimed the mode would not reach the studio’s “initial quality threshold.” The team also looked at the in-game data. Reportedly, only 5.6% of FM24 PC saves played International Management. According to Jacobson, the data “validates our view that we need to do much, much better with the experience.” The feature will return in FM26 and…

Speaking at the Venice Film Festival this week, Phoenix declined to give specifics on how he lost the weight for the Joker sequel, but mentioned how it was more difficult this time around and he’s unlikely to do it again in the future.”I’m not going to talk through specifics of the diet, but this time it felt a bit more complicated just because there was so much dance rehearsal that we were doing, which I didn’t have last time,” Phoenix said, as reported by Variety. “So it felt a bit more difficult … but it is safe. But yeah, I’m now 49, I probably shouldn’t do this again.”Phoenix dropped 52 pounds for the firs…
