The Legend Of Zelda Timeline Has Seemingly Become More Baffling

Nintendo has apparently provided a fresh new timeline for The Legend of Zelda series, one that famously splits off into three different branches after Ocarina of Time. We now have an idea of where the most recent entries–Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom–fit into the franchise’s chronology. Spoilers: They don’t, instead being placed into their own little timeline.Vooks spotted the new Legend of Zelda timeline at Nintendo Live over this past weekend in Sydney, Australia. The image–seen below–was shared on X by Wario64, showing Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom separated from the official chronology that begins with Skyward Sword.

The Legend Of Zelda's First Lego Set Has Arrived – Great Deku Tree 2-In-1 Is Shipping Now

Lego’s Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 building kit launched this weekend, marking the first collaboration between the brick-building giant and The Legend of Zelda. The 2,500-piece kit pays homage to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the N64 classic Ocarina of Time. It’s a Lego Store exclusive at the moment, so if you’re interested in picking it up, you may want to order soon. It’s not uncommon for exclusives to switch from “available now” to “backordered” at launch. If that happens, typically you have to wait for 60 days until your order ships. Orders placed now ship for free with a three- to five-day standard shipping delivery window.

Real-Time Strategy RPG Band Of Crusaders Seems Bland, Lacking The Story Elements I Want To See

Band of Crusaders feels like a game I’m going to have to give a second chance to–the preview build doesn’t feature any of the story elements, and I really only enjoy strategy RPGs that feature long-form, intriguing stories that make the dozens, if not hundreds, of hours I spend playing them worth it. So as interesting as it was to play a game largely divorced from any of the narrative context and story–something I’ve never really done before–the experience more than anything reinforced how important those aspects of a game are. When a game is mostly just gameplay, it isn’t all that interesting for me.Set in an alternate history of medieval England, Band of Crusaders sees you take on the role of Grandmaster of a freshly constructed order of knights that do battle against demons. Set in a…

Tim Sweeney Says Many Epic Games Store Exclusivity Deals "Were Not Good Investments"

Exclusives apparently haven’t moved the needle for the Epic Games Store. In fact, most haven’t even been wise investments, according to Epic Games founder and CEO Tim Sweeney. What has worked instead for the company is giving away free games.PC Gamer reports that Sweeney revealed this strategy evaluation with reporters earlier this week while discussing user acquisition for the Epic Games Store. “We spent a lot of money on exclusives,” said Sweeney. “A few of them worked extremely well. A lot of them were not good investments, but the free games program has been just magical.”Sweeney didn’t go into detail about which “few” worked out. Arguably the latest big exclusive for the Epic Games Store was Alan Wake 2, which developer Remedy mentioned hadn’t earned back its development costs earlier…
